I was fortunate enough to be at the Naguar Camel Fair in India in very early 2020. There were literally camel beauty contests and camel talent shows! I could’t keep my eyes off the elaborate beads and chains these beasts were sporting. Later, i found that Varansi is one of the bead capitals of the world. This 42 x 34 x 4” installation revels int he textures, colors and crowded beauty of the experience. The bells and cymbals add an auditory dimension.
