There is something about wonderful a tricycle – your first taste of independence and speed, perhaps? I reinterpreted this tricycle from all angles. When my sketches accumulated, I began to think about Wallace Steven’s poem, “Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird”. The poem is incorporated into the painting.
