A flying dream seems like a gift from the heavens. To honor a recent such dream, I created this small piece with a slightly cloudy veneer. The birds are from photos I took on a ferry in the Netherlands, under a gray sky. The hands are from a portrait by the early Northern Renaissance painter Matsys.
