COMMISSION THIS: Floating World box
Not in stock at the moment but can be commissioned. All boxes are similar but not identical. The Floating World refers to the cultural aspects of Edo-period Japan (1615-1868), a time of wit, stylishness and hedonism. It is recorded in the wonderful woodblock prints of the geishas, actors, wrestlers and prostitutes.
Altered wooden cigar box, collage with rice/other natural fiber paper, ink and acrylic paint. Wooden knob and feet.. One option has removable dividers. The current boxes I use will fit most remotes, take-out menus and even your fancy chopsticks!
Colors, internal collages & paper vary but top lid collage always similar. Photos of available items upon request. FREE SHIPPING IN THE U.S.
